## Introductions for particular courses

| Course or reading group | Suggested introduction | Starting resource |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Financial law and insurance | How does a policy support credit, and which legal steps determine its value as collateral? This open-access book provides a doctrinal setting for examining rights, security and realisation. | [Policy rights and collateral seminar](lessons/03.md) |
| Trusts and company law | Identify the property held on trust, then distinguish formal powers, practical influence and entitlement to company assets. The companion supplies fictional problems for testing each inference. | [Trust property and authority seminar](lessons/04.md) and [powers and control seminar](lessons/05.md) |
| Legal method | Follow a transaction across documents and institutions. Ask what legal rule gives a fact its proposed consequence, what evidence satisfies that rule and who may decide. | [Relational analysis seminar](lessons/01.md) |
| Financial regulation | Consider whether an authorised institution can assemble the information needed for a specified legal decision. The companion offers a fictional file for separating missing evidence from an established regulatory gap. | [Institutional information seminar](lessons/06.md) |
| Greater China law | Explore the PRC–Hong Kong interface through insurance, credit and governance arrangements, while checking the jurisdiction and legal basis of each proposition. | [Premium-origin seminar](lessons/02.md) and [full teaching guide](teaching-guide.md) |

These introductions describe possible teaching uses. They do not imply that an institution has adopted the book. The book’s legal cut-off is 1 August 2026, except where its text states otherwise. The companion is an AI-assisted supplement commissioned by the author and has not been reviewed by the publisher.
